Probate Administration
Guiding Families Through Estate Settlement — With Clarity, Compassion, and the Meridian Guarantee.
Losing a loved one is one of life’s most difficult moments. When you are also named executor or administrator of their estate, the weight of that responsibility can feel overwhelming. The Meridian Law Group is here to lift that burden. We provide full probate administration services — handling every legal step required by the court so that your family can focus on healing, not paperwork.
Probate is the court-supervised process through which a deceased person’s estate is formally identified, debts are settled, and assets are distributed to heirs and beneficiaries. Whether you are dealing with a straightforward estate or a complex one with multiple assets, creditors, or contested claims, our team has the experience and the dedication to see the process through — on time, transparently, and with you informed at every stage.
What is Probate?
When someone passes away, their estate generally cannot be transferred to heirs until it has gone through probate — a formal legal proceeding supervised by the court. During probate the court:
• Validates the will (or applies state intestacy law if there is no will)
• Officially appoints an executor or administrator to manage the estate
• Ensures all valid debts, expenses, and taxes are paid
• Authorizes the legal transfer of remaining assets to rightful beneficiaries
Not every asset goes through probate. Assets held in a living trust, accounts with named beneficiaries, and jointly titled property typically pass outside of probate. We will assess your specific situation and advise you on exactly what is and is not subject to the process.
